This was taken at exactly 8:53pm last night... exactly 24 hours after the tragic and horrific car crash which took the life of 19 year old David Rivas Jr. From this earth. The students of Notre Dame Catholic High School of Riverside arranged this vigil in David's honor. David was a honor roll student who was going to graduate next month and go to Arizona State to pursue his passion in Sports Journalism and business.
May God Bless the family and give his parents, David & Sandra Rivas the strength to get through the hardest thing a parent will ever have to do in life. David was the 1st of 4 children and was a blessing to all of us.
I coached David in baseball... what a player and what an amazing human being he was to so many people. David was one of our son Corey's best friends for 5 years. My wife Valerie and I loved this young man as if he was our own and we are doing whatever we can to help his parents, David Sr. and Sandra as they are dear friends of ours.
